LIMSI (Computer Science Laboratory for Mechanics and Engineering Sciences) is a CNRS laboratory, associated with Paris-Sud University and located on the Saclay plateau, 20kms South of Paris. The laboratory accommodates approximately 120 permanent personnel (researchers, professors and assistant professors, engineers, technicians) and about sixty PhD candidates. The Advanced Computing Laboratory of Saint-Denis (LIASD) was created in 1971. It is situated in the IT department of the Paris 8 University and the University Institute of Technology in Montreuil. The laboratory is made up of 27 members of staff and 20 PhD students. The LIASD's research is organized into research projects managed by teams around to 2 themes:
Theme 1: on-board computing for medicine, and robotics
- on-board medicine;
- on-board systems computing for handicap and robotics engineering;
- diagnosis and decision-making support.
Theme 2: data acquisition, data interpretation and data visualization
- Information network, machine learning and corpus: model-driven engineering, ontology, ontologies alignment and reasoning, ontologies modularization, data mining, fuzzy semantics, automatic document summarization;
- Expressive rendering: production of picture containing precise information from a scene, picture or video by stylization, visualization.
